The thing about things is that we don’t tend to notice them until there’s something wrong with them (eyes) or something right (a beautiful sunset).
In other words, they slip beneath out attention unless they vary greatly from the ‘norm’.
Thing is, though, there are a great many normal experiences that we miss seeing. We don’t experience their ordinary beauty.
That blob of bean juice on the edge of the plate. The lovely shape of that fold of material on your arm. The angle of the lamp. The crustiness of the bread. All sorts of everyday miracles.
Today – celebrate something that was the same as yesterday. It’s no less, just because it is familiar.
