Here’s how to have a really great day:
- Do things that both you and the people around you enjoy
- Make sure that what you do is useful (or beautiful)
- Don’t disagree with anything that anyone says
- Clean the bath or shower after you use it
- Try not to talk much about yourself
- Don’t fart in front of anyone
- Cuddle your teddy-bear
- Eat something nice
- Say thank you
- Smile a lot
- Be nice
- ๐
A right-angled triangle! ๐
I don’t have a teddy bear right now (in storage along with lots of other stuff), so I’ll have to cuddle my cat instead.
Bonne nuit … dream something sweet (I know, I know, the ‘t’ in ‘nuit’ isn’t pronounced, so ‘nuit’ and ‘sweet’ don’t really rhyme).

I could do with storing my stuff and disappearing. But I won’t.

No. A version of ‘sweet’ that rhymes with ‘nuit’. ๐

I’m pretty good aujourdโhui, thanks – how about you? I would have never jumped to the realisation that expert rhymed me my name in even one language, much less two! ๐

Mir geht es auch gut, grazie. Oh c’mon, you’re understating your skills. For an Englishman, you’re … oops, I better stop there. ๐

Yeah, we English don’t bother much with other languages do we. Let the mountain come to Mohammed. ๐

Admittedly, that is a practical point of view. English is also my strongest language, so I understand where you’re coming from. When I landed in Austria after many hours of travelling, I felt like saying to everyone, ‘Can you stop speaking to me in German? I can barely even speak English right now.’

By looking cynical, do you mean you have your eyebrows raised? That expression can’t be sustained for long (without face cramps). ๐

My cynical expression is more dead-pan than eyebrow-raise.

But not farting in the public should be maintained. Not picking nose too

Farting in public is fine – just scrape your foot along the ground as you do it. And make sure you are down-wind. ๐
Why is picking the nose with a tissue acceptable, but not with the finger?

Well, y’all grew up and left. Got your independence. What more to say? Should I say that your bedroom is just as it was when you left? That we still set the table with one extra plate? That we cry all night and worry for your safety? That we long for a phone call every now and again?
I guess that would be weird. ๐
