There’s something moving in the pipes at work. I saw the water swell and ripple in the toilet. It swayed and pulsed as if an earthquake was happening; but it wasn’t. It rose towards me and then changed its mind and subsided.
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something in the pipes. Don’t say that I didn’t warn you!

By the way, you asked me ages ago if I could help you understand “Theory”. From the sites I’ve consulted, it just refers to the various ways one can talk/write about literature, right? For example, I could put on a ‘feminist hat’ and examine a piece of writing from that perspective. Perhaps I’m completely off the mark?

Never read it and I think that I lost interest in the movie and so blanked much of it out.
Never quite made sense of Theory. It seemed to say (something like) literature can be seen in the light of x, y and z (feminism being one example) but I could never find any text that actually got around to putting it into practice, as in ‘yeah, the curly haired chick in the Dilbert cartoons demonstrates the feminist approach to …’ and here I lose my way because I know nothing about feminism. Yeah, I know. Maybe I should do a course.
So yeah, you’re spit on.

I didn’t know Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was a book as well as a movie. I also lost interest in the movie and couldn’t watch the rest of it.
Theory seems to be pretentious nonsense that could potentially become priceless gems when specific perspectives are applied. Or not. Probably not.
No earworms at the moment. Just wondering what has made me feel uneasy (trying to track down the thought that made me feel this way… in other words, I’m having the feeling that I’ve forgotten something that made me feel like this.)
