Blank Rasa

Just now, I found this post that I published accidentally. Before I could withdraw the post, Lis dropped a Like on it, even though it didn’t have a title or anything in the body. So, on seeing this stub of a post in my Deleted items, I thought to myself hey, I could use that!, and so I am.

What do you do when you see a blank slate or a tabla rasa as they say in Latin? I just write the first thing that comes into my head. In this case, it was a little story of why the slate was blank and what I did with it. The things that come into your head are probably completely different, but I’m 100% sure that something enters and leaves it every single day.

There’s a saying, attributed to Shunryu Suzuki (no, he doesn’t make motorbikes) that goes something like this: “leave your front door and your back door open. Allow yourΒ thoughtsΒ to come and go. Just don’t serve them tea”.

That stuff only should apply to negative stuff though. Don’t write those thoughts down. Just let them go. Instead, capture the good stuff and pop it onto a post then post that post to your blog. Obviously I’m breaking my own rules now by repeating the word post in this post and so I’ll stop this post now and let you get on with your life post haste. Bye.
