I can remember what I had for breakfast.
Two slices of peanut butter on toast and a cup of tea.
I can remember what I had for brunch.
A bowl of carrot soup and a plate of various fruits.
I can’t remember what I’m going to have for lunch.
And I can’t remember God.
Those things that I remember are things that I have done.
The things I don’t remember have not happened.
How can I remember lunch when it is in the future?
How can I remember God when we’ve never met?
Hey, God – you fancy … erm … I mean … it’s lunchtime – you know?
