Following on from my article in which I advocated that we all should sell out and wriggle our way under the man’s thumb here’s an alternative:

In this book, the Clarke twins tell us that we should embrace our superpowers (our passions) and double down on them in order to achieve success on our own terms. To do this we should be confident (believing in yourself makes it more likely that others will believe in you), cool (keeping your finger on the pulse so that you know what’s new and fresh for the simple reason that everyone loves cool) and compassionate (people will help you when you help them). Oh, and it might also be good to exploit white space (a new idea or a tweak to an existing system). Apply your superpowers to white spaces.

Here’s the takeaway message: you’ll never be happy pretending to be someone you’re not.

It strikes me that there are many ways to be and all of them have evidence in their favour. Don’t worry about that. Instead of thinking that you should be one way rather than another, be both ways. That means that you should choose one way when it’s appropriate and another way when that becomes apt instead. In other words, take the best of all worlds and use it to enhance your happiness.
