Time to Shine

I take this photograph year after year and it’s continually lovely but not as as beautiful as the reality of walking beside the riverbank, traffic a dim buzz in the distance drowned out by lazy bumblebees rooting about in their favourite blossom; dodging the butterflies with the grace of a ballet and enjoying, with me, the warmth of the dying, soon to be resurrected, sun and the comfort of a day spent in the arms of the fortune and favour that is a life lived in the awareness of the strength that comes from believing that all”s well that’s meant to be well and all the rest can go sit in a corner and wait for its time to shine.
