I can’t read very well when I’m upset.
ACTUALLY, THAT’S NOT RIGHT.
I can’t easily understand what I read when I’m upset.
YEAH, THAT SOUNDS MORE LIKE IT.
When I’m upset and I try to read then I have to re-read every sentence a few times before the sense of it kicks in.
YOU DON’T SAY.
Funnily enough, I can write perfectly well when I’m upset.
THAT’S BECAUSE YOU WRITE NONSENSE.
I don’t have any particular need to understand myself when I’m writing.
YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND YOURSELF, FULL STOP.
Different parts of the brain are used for different things.
YEAH, LIKE YOU’VE TAKEN YOUR BRAIN APART AND EXAMINED IT.
Speaking and writing use different parts of the brain, so probably reading and writing do too.
YOU ONLY HAVE ONE BRAIN AND THIS IS WHAT YOU’RE USING IT FOR?
If you write for long enough then you will come to an understanding of what you’re writing about.
SAY THAT AGAIN USING DIFFERENT WORDS.
You can work through knots in your thinking by writing about them.
AND?
And you can smooth out your mind by thinking, logically, about what’s bothering you.
I CAN TIE MYSELF UP IN KNOTS BY THINKING TOO MUCH.
I’ve just about had enough of your mithering; shut your face!
MAKE ME!

Arguing with oneself can lead to interesting revelations.

Yeah, so long as it doesn’t become a habit, I suppose. Arguments, whether with the self or others, are a waste of life. Whatever you’re about to say, I agree wholeheartedly with it. 😀
