Nine Minutes

I am not alive enough to walk you through the mess that is my mind today so I will say only that I have nine minutes to scratch the surface. If I were a butterfly this would take me to the toddler stage of my life. I know that you might not know that butterflies only live twenty-four hours (or so I read once and I have not the time to check) so this is why I am writing this sentence.

What is the point of me walking around in the sunshine watching my feet, or a book, or the results of the breeze on the thin, thin clothing wrapped around certain shapes of people? What is the sense of me even asking you for the point? There is no point. I might as well stay home in bed and wait for the night to come again. When hunger comes I may pad downstairs to find food in a parody of the hunter the historians say I once was – although I don’t really remember this very well.

Several minutes must have passed. Have I the time to save and to check-edit? Maybe. Let me just post instead – just in case I don’t. Two minute warning. Siren sounds. Gone.

        • I remembered and I’m listening to it now. I used to be a big Sisters of Mercy fan so this is excellent! Can you believe I used to be into the whole goth scene! 🙂 Lovely reminder, and so topical too.

          • I can believe it…you grew up around that era, right…? Punk, post-punk, goth? I used to be really into the scene, too. Still like some of the music, but I also get really nostalgic for that time, and for the people I knew. Brings back so many memories. Guess that’s what happens when you get old. *laugh*

            • Try this for a laugh – stop listening to the old songs and listen to the stuff the kids are doing these days – some of it us really good! There’s stuff being done these days that doesn’t remind me of anything that’s ever been done before – and I think that’s excellent news! 🙂

            • I’d ask you to make me a mix tape, but that would date me even more. LOL. I’ve got someone that has a ginormous record collection and they make me mixes/music collections from time to time…mostly, though, I listen to movie soundtracks, neo-medieval stuff, dark ambient, and classical stuff…stuff without words…while I’m writing etc. I’ve kinda fallen off being “on trend” with music, unfortunately.

            • I think they’re called Playlists now. 🙂
On trend music was something I avoided for a while. I broke the habit when I joined a weird sex cult and am only just getting back. It’s better than I thought it would me. You should read my post https://robertcday.wordpress.com/2017/06/27/little-mix/ to get a flavour.
But, yeah – stuff without words suits me best when I’m writing. Or with backward words. Gosh, I actually wrote about that too here: https://robertcday.wordpress.com/2017/05/18/upside-down-and-backwards/
Sorry about that – I’m just full of … stuff today. 🙂

            • I just read that Little Mix post…neat! And, yes, I remember that post, too, actually. We “chatted” on that post, too, methinks! LOL

            • Nice. I don’t take up much room, and I only eat screaming carrots but you can’t “hear” that electromagnetic wavelength, anyway. LOL 🙂 Oh, and I always wanted to move to England. I blame The Secret Garden and Rebecca. *packs bags* (Footnote: TOTALLY just kidding!–just in case)
