Bought some corn chips in Germany and they were foul. The rest of the packet has been sitting in the cupboard for the longest time. No-one wants to eat them.
When sparrows, blackbirds, pigeons, magpies, robins and other feathered critters come into the garden to eat worms, berries, stale bread or other types of bird food, the joke is that they are ‘chickens’. Food is sometimes put out for the chickens.
Today, in the garden, you can see Chicken and Chips. *giggle*
Aw, c’mon – I thought it was funny!
*sigh*
Why aren’t they called corn CRISPS?

Because Chicken and Crisps wouldn’t scan. It would break the pun.

Cockerel and crisps. 🐔

Nope. Chicken and chips is a common meal here in the UK.

There was a crow who used to knock on our kitchen window every morning till our cook gave it some fish

That makes me smile. 🙂

But I don’t know where it is now. My cook has taken leave and the crow is absent too

If they were friends then they may be together. 🙂
I want to be so good that birds will not fly from me.

Our cook will be back in a month or so. I hope the crow comes back too

You should give the crow a gift when it returns. Make friends. That would be cool – to have a crow as a friend. 🙂

Reminds me of the song ‘A raven that refused to sing’ you should see the video when you are free. Or you shouldn’t. It’s very very sad

Ha – maybe I’ll save that for a day when I’m really, really happy so that it doesn’t get me down too much. 🙂

Then, the song is by a dear friend of yours 💜💜

Okay, I broke off listening to Jóga by Björk to listen The Raven That Refused To Sing by Steven Wilson. I got two and half minutes though (up to when the raven starts picking up berries). I need your assurance that the song gets a little happier before I watch and listen to more. It’s brilliant – delicate, lovely, well-written, beautifully illustrated, poignantly sung, but I refuse to follow it into bitterness and death. That will come soon enough anyway without dwelling on it in art. 🙂

Warned you that it’s bitter. Well, the song is more like a short film. No, no-one will die.

Whew! I’ll break off from listening to Massive Attack to listen to the rest of it now. 😉

Listened? How was it?

Like … sad, but with a lot of truth. A brilliant allegory for loss, hope, despair, depression and death. Talented guy. Music, singing and lyrics were good too.

He said that he doesn’t see why he should and that I should mind my own business when I told him that. Then I accidentally-on-purpose stood on his toes. I can’t print what he said next – but my ears are still burning from it! 😀

He’s fine. Can’t same the same about his big toenail, though.
Still – he says it’ll make a nice plectrum. 😉

(No idea what the chips will do them, maybe they’ll decorate your house with the results)
